Scholarships are available to International Door Association Member sponsored students.

Applications for IDA Scholarship are accepted March 1 through July 15.

On June 22, 2000, the IDA Board of directors authorized the development of a Scholarship program to be administered by the association’s Education and Meetings Committee. The first IDA Scholarship awards were given in the Fall of 2001. The foundation was incorporated on August 5, 2002 and a foundation board was established in October 2002. An IDA Scholarship Investor Program was initiated in 2001 and a recognition for contributors page first appeared in the International Door & Operator Industry magazine in the July-Aug 2002 issue.

Scholarships

Scholarships are awarded per criteria per region per type of scholarship. Twelve regions are each offered a Primary Scholarship and a Secondary Scholarship for Dealer sponsored applicans; one Primary Scholarship for an Industry sponsored applicant is also offered. These awards are given once per year, but a scholarship recipient may reapply each year and receive up to four scholarships. Applications are year specific to the Fall award. Applications are available in English and Spanish.

 

The following individuals shall be eligible to receive IDA Scholarships:

    a. Immediate family members of an IDA dealer member.

    b. Employees of an IDA dealer member.

    c. Immediate family members of an employee of an IDA dealer member.

    d. The definition of immediate family includes: spouse, son, daughter, legally adopted, natural and stepchildren.

 

The following scholarships are offered:

    a. Primary Full-Time Undergraduate University, College, Community College, Vocational and Technical College.

    b. Secondary Part-Time Undergraduate Studies.

 

Schools must be State Certified or Licensed. IDA Scholarships award amounts are provided as follows:

    a. FULLTIME Undergraduate - $2,000.

    b. PART-TIME Undergraduate Studies- $Up to $1000
